Elgin Shockmaster Self-winding Automatic Vintage Watch Swiss Made
About the Watch:
This beautiful watch comes to us from the height of Elgin's storied history, in the 1960s when they were producing Swiss made watches at affordable prices. The dial on this Shockmaster could not be any cleaner after 60 years and the durable stainless steel case ensures that there are many more years left on it. The skeleton hands are in phenomenal shape and add a bit of flair to this utilitarian watch. It has been recently serviced and running perfectly.

Sean's Thoughts:
Elgin is one of the great American watch manufacturers that I wish was still around. They, like Hamilton and Gruen, started to use Swiss movements in the 60s but once the quartz crisis hit they were unable to survive in their current state. The brand name was sold off and the real Elgin died along with it. The watch here is falls squarely during the true Elgin days of the 1960s though it was the last decade they would be themselves. They made beautiful watches like this that have stood the rest of time and shown their quality even after all these years.
