Itnis a shame that Gruen was unable to stay in business because they certainly made world class watches. They made them here in the US as well as leveraged Swiss manufacturing for movements during the late 50s and 60s. This watch is a great example of a Swiss made movement cased here in the US and sold as an affordable dress watch. At that time men were expected to wear a dress watch (simple dial, no date) with a suit or tuxedo. This watch was minimalist before minimalism was cool. Numbers? Nope, just lines. Seconds Hand? Can't be bothered with that nonsense! It's just a clean and simple watch, perfect for a suit or tux. It's in phenomenal condition too and running perfectly. A fantastic addition to any collection. If you don't already have a Gruen, this is the one to get.
